About Me
Hello! My name is Kristin, I am a wife and a mother to 4 beautiful children. I am passionate about nutrition, helping others achieve their weight loss and fitness goals and inspiring others. Personally, I have struggled with weight loss myself and I understand how difficult and frustrating it can be to lose weight, and although I am by no means an expert, I have over 20 years’ worth of personal experience in addition to focusing my studies on nutrition and the biological and psychological effects it has on the human body.
I have shared what I have learned with friends and family who have wanted to lose weight for health reasons or simply for self-improvement and they have successfully lost weight and continue to reach out whenever they need additional support. One important thing I have learned over the years is that different strategies work for different people, but the basic concepts are the same for everyone.
My goal and motivation for this blog is to share tips and techniques about intuitive eating, losing weight, and to share some of my own personal stories and home life, but most importantly, help others to break though the diet mentality while debunking the diet culture that is filled with a ton of misinformation. Quite frankly there are a lot of marketing claims that are simply untrue and designed to get us to buy whatever they are selling. The diet industry is a 71 billion dollar industry that often takes advantage of consumers who are desperate to lose weight and will try anything that promises an easy and quick way to weight loss.
Beyond fitness and nutrition, I am a self-taught baker and I love to try new recipes when I have the time. My new current baking obsession is making macarons. I absolutely love how challenging and rewarding they are to make!
My home is filled with kids loudly playing and quite a few animals including a dog, two cats, a turtle, two rabbits and ten chickens. You could say we live on a small suburban farm! I love going outside in the early mornings to watch the chickens and hear them singing the egg song. During the summer I love to be outdoors camping, fishing, hiking, and hanging out by a campfire with my family. Life is hectic right now, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
